1. Select the Letter Grade

In order to calculate your GPA, you need have the course grades with you, or if you want to experiment and estimate your expected GPA enter the grade for each course into the grade column of the tool. On a 4.0 scale or 4.33 scale that we have used for this tool, grades range from A+ to F. For each course, select the respective grade from the drop-down list.

2. Add Your Course Credit Hours

The next step is to insert the number of credits for the course in the “credit” column of our tool. For instance, if you have earned a B- for a 3 credit Math class then enter Math 628 --- B- --- 3. For high school students, they can add weighted and unweighted courses, as they are evaluated differently. Unweighted classes are your normal classes, whereas weighted classes carry extra points on the GPA scale.

How to Calculate GPA for AP or Honors Courses?

Students who are taking AP Advanced Placement Class or Honor courses, have weighted grade points. For example, for an honors courses grade a half point (0.5) is added, for AP course a whole point (1.0) is added. Once you are done with Advanced Placement or Honors courses your resulted will be calculated above 5 for AP and 4.5 for honors.
